Why Retained?
Most recruitment consultants are managing multiple roles at the same time. Those roles naturally compete for attention, and agencies will always prioritise the assignments they believe are most likely to result in a successful placement of the highest value. A highly attractive role, with a strong package, clear brief, committed client and exclusive or retained basis of engagement will usually receive the most focus. A role released to multiple agencies on a purely contingent basis will rarely command the same level of commitment, however important that vacancy may be to the client.

Because the best candidates may not remain available at the end of a standard three-month executive search process we adopt an agile approach that minimises the risk of losing them to competitors. Assignments typically take between two to four weeks from instruction to offer acceptance.

We will give you an honest view of the brief, the likely talent pool, the strength of the proposition and the best way to approach the search. If we believe that the offering is such that we can source a world-class solution, we will agree an exclusive retained basis of engagement.
